Ards Cricket Club Under 15 XI and Graham Cup team v Dundrum on Fri 03 Jul 2015 at 6.30
Ards Cricket Club Won by 9 wickets

Match report The Under 15's were given the opportunity to quickly banish the bad memories of their midweek batting collapse against Donacloney when they faced Dundrum at home. Having lost 2 games, they knew a win was essential to maintain any lingering hopes of a league play-off place. Ards won the toss and put Dundrum into bat preferring to chase but it looked like it was going to be a daunting total as Foster, with a more unorthodox approach, and Campbell, with more conventional shots, hit the ball to all parts of the ground as Dundrum's run rate varied between 6 and 8 until they had reached 3 figures and Foster (53) had to retire. Campbell and Moag continued to plunder the Ards bowlers until Campbell (53) also had to retire and with u13 players Eddie Hawkins and Adam McGrath picking up the only 2 wickets to fall (Moag 21 and Gibson 7) the Dundrum innings closed on 153 for 2 off the 20 overs.

With the coaching team reminding the players they had scored 158 against Laurelvale and that the game was far from lost, openers Jack Smith and Harry Jackson began the reply equally as positively scoring at 10 runs an over taking the score into the fifties when Smith had to leave the field having been struck on the foot. But there was no let up from Jackson and Robbie Sinclair who continued in a similar vein and despite a few close escapes took Ards in sight of victory when Jackson was bowled for 49 (with 8 boundaries), one short of what would have been a well-deserved half century. Smith had recovered sufficiently to resume his innings and not wanting to run too much went on the attack going 6,4,6,4 and 2 to take his score to 35no and Ards to the brink of victory. However it was fitting that Robbie Sinclair, who finished 45no (with 1 maximum and 6 boundaries) was left to hit the winning boundary as Ards reached the target score of 154 off the 1st ball of the 16th over.

So what a performance and bounce back from the Ards boys who pick up their 3rd win in the current league campaign and stay on the heels of unbeaten Saintfield and Donacloney, who still have to play each other, with 3 games remaining against Bangor, Downpatrick and Armagh.
